Advantages of an ELOQUIP Aluminum Dump Body vs. a Steel Dump Body
Weight   An ELOQUIP aluminum dump body weighs much less than a comparable steel body. This allows for a higher legal payload and savings in fuel cost. Weight   The higher weight of a comparable steel dump body reduces the legal payload significantly. This means lower payload and higher fuel cost.
Appearance   Aluminum will not rust and therefore does not require painting. When it is properly maintained, it will have a "clean look" for many years. This will enhance your "professional image" with your customers. Appearance   A steel body will start to rust within a short time of use and will lose its "showroom" appearance, potentially harming your "professional image" with customers. It will require painting regularly adding to the initial cost.
Longevity   With little maintenance, an aluminum body will last for many years. When the truck needs to be replaced, the body can be changed over to a new cab and chassis. Longevity   Most steel bodies rust out within 10 years of use. It would not be worth changing over to a new chassis.
Resale Value   Because an aluminum body does not rust it has a lower depreciation factor. After several years of use it will still have a high resale value. Resale Value   A steel body will rust and has therefore a much higher depreciation factor. Its value is minimal after 5 years.
Keeping in mind the comparison factors between aluminum and steel bodies,
it is clear that the best value on your investment can be found in an ELOQUIP ALUMINUM body.
